Credit Licensing: Competence and Training
Course Details
Description
Credit licensing compliance requires adherence to ASIC guidelines on organisational competence and training.
Credit licensees and their representatives must adhere to the organisational credit licensing obligations, competence standards, and training requirements outlined in ASIC Regulatory Guide 206.
ASIC evaluates the qualifications and experience of individuals to ensure they meet the ‘fit and proper’ criteria necessary for engaging in credit activities.
Compliance requirements vary based on the nature, scale, and complexity of your business. However, ASIC’s guide provides the minimum standards for demonstrating organisational competence.
As part of compliance, ASIC expects credit licensees to identify suitable initial and ongoing training for themselves and their representatives, integrating this into recruitment and training systems effectively.
